Lyrics Translation/Traducción: Fuukei by Motohiro Hata / 秦 基博の風景

A while ago I found out about this awesome japanese singer, his name is Motohiro Hata. I started to listen to his songs and absolutely loved them however with my knowlegde of japanese I couldn’t make out the whole meaning of these songs and at the time couldn’t find any translation of the lyrics. After a while I set my mind to it and was able to somewhat translate one of my favorites, Fuukei which means scenery or landscape.

So here goes my first attempt at translating from japanese.

Third, my translation. Keep in mind it is my first try so it may have a lot of mistakes.

The skies revolve around afternoons wind.
Bored and absentminded I play by myself.

Openings in the desolated woods, spring starts to bud.
The cold starts to grow, [the woods] grow tall and gather light.

I think I love the landscape that I gave to you.
I always want to watch it through the finder in my chest.

I will always be there, I want to feel that sunny place.
Hey, its warm, kind of embarassing.

Will you always be by my side? I have to grow a bit stronger too.
So that I can protect you, I wish I could be at ease.

My breath starts to become agitated, the soft shadow of the clouds.
Anyways the end will come, I’m guessing so…

The landscape that I saw with you one day has become even more romantic.
The shutter in my heart takes cropped pictures.
